Target REDcard Benefits Program Rules
REDcard debit and credit cards deliver more savings and rewards every day, from instant 5% savings in store and online to free shipping on your Target.com purchases.
Here are some rules and information for REDcard benefits programs. To apply for a REDcard, see a team member at your Target location near you or apply online at Target.com/apply.
5% REDcard Discount
When you use your Target Debit Card, Target Credit Card or Target Visa Credit Card at Target stores, you will receive 5% off your purchases. If you use a REDcard in the ame purchase transaction with another form of payment, the 5% discount will apply only to the purchase amount tendered to your REDcard.
5% discount applies to eligible purchases minus any other discounts and the value of any promotional Target gift cards received in the transaction. Target reserves the right to discontinue or alter the terms of the program at any time.
5% discount does not apply to the following:
- prescriptions, target clinic services and target optical eye exams
- target gift cards and prepaid cards
- previous purchases
- target credit account payments, target debit card cash back and cash advances on the target visa credit card
- target commercial interiors purchases
- gift wrap and shipping and handling charges on target.com purchases
- where otherwise prohibited by law
FREE SHPPING at Target.com
When you use your Target Debit Card, Target Credit Card or Target Visa Credit Card on Target.com, you will receive free shpping on your Target.com purchases. Offer applies on standard shipping to all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as APO/FPO addresses and Puerto Rico. If you upgrade your shipping method, shipping fees will apply.
REDcard Extended Returns
When you make purchases with your Target Debit Card, Target Credit Card or Target Visa Credit Card at Target stores in the US, you will receive 30 additional days to return the purchases beyond the standard return policy.
Take Charge of Eduation
Qualifying Schools – The Take Charge of Education program is intended to beneift K-12 schools located in the United States having a 501 or 509 tax-exempt status.
How the Program Works – Target Credit Card and Target Visa Credit Card account holders can sign up for the Take Charge of Education program by visiting Target.com/tcoe or an in-store kiosk or by calling 1-800-316-6142. Designate an eligible K-12 school and Target donates an amount equal to one percent of your Target purchases (minus returns and sales tax) at any Target store and Target.com. Target will track purchases made on participating Target Credit Cards and will distribute the accumulated donations to schools in February.
General Conditions – Only one school may be designated for each Target Credit Card account, Target Visa Credit Card account and Target Debit Card. For the Target Debit Card, only the primary cardholder can designate the K-12 school and the designation will apply to any authorized users. Schools must meet the eligibility requirements described above.
Donation amounts begin to accrue when the school designation is processed. The school donation will only be made for Target Credit Card accounts and Target Visa Credit Card accounts that are open and in good standing at the time donations are distributed to eligible schools. The school donation will only be made for Target Debit Cards that are open and have no unpaid electronic fund transfers at the time the donation is distributed to the eligible schools. School donations through the Take Charge of Education program are not tax deductible.
Checks will not be mailed to schools if the payout is less than $25. Checks must be cashed before the expiration on the checks. Checks are considered rejected if not cashed by their expiration date. Target reserves the right to discontinue or alter the terms of this program at any time.
