History
The first Charlotte Russe store opened in California in 1975. During the next two decades, the Charlotte Russe Holdings Inc. (CHIC) grew on its promise to keep their focus on the customers and not bagging money – in 1991 it made net sales of $50 million. Six years later, the company was acquired by the firm Saunders Karp & Megrue and went public in 1999. Currently, Charlotte Russe stores have been established in 501 locations nationwide.
